Chapter 14
15 And when it was evening, his disciples
came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past;
send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy
themselves victuals.
16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not
depart;
give ye them to eat.
17 And they say unto him, We have here but
five loaves, and two fishes.
18 He said, Bring them hither to me.
19 And he commanded the multitude to sit
down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up
to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the
disciples to the multitude.
20 And they did all eat, and were filled:
and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
21 And they that had eaten were about five
thousand men, beside women and children.

Matthew 28:1-20
Chapter 28
1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began
to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other
Mary to see the sepulchre.
2 And, behold, there was a great
earthquake:
for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled
back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and
his raiment white as snow:
4 And for fear of him the keepers did
shake, and became as dead men.
5 And the angel answered and said unto the
women, Fear not ye:
for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here:
for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples
that he is risen from the dead;
and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee;
there shall ye see him:
lo, I have told you.
8 And they departed quickly from the
sepulchre with fear and great joy;
and did run to bring his disciples word.
9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold,
Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and
worshipped him.
10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid:
go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see
me.
11 Now when they were going, behold, some
of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the
things that were done.
12 And when they were assembled with the
elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by
night, and stole him away while we slept.
14 And if this come to the governor's ears,
we will persuade him, and secure you.
15 So they took the money, and did as they
were taught:
and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into
Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
17 And when they saw him, they worshipped
him:
but some doubted.
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying,
All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
And Glory be to God forever

2 Corinthians 2:12-3:6
Chapter 2
12 Further, when I came to Troas to preach
Christ's gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,
13 I had no rest in my spirit, because I
found not Titus my brother:
but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.
14 Now thanks be unto God, which always
causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his
knowledge by us in every place.
15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of
Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
16 To the one we are the savour of death
unto death;
and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for
these things?
17 For we are not as many, which corrupt
the word of God:
but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in
Christ.
Chapter 3
1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves?
or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters
of commendation from you?
2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts,
known and of all men:
3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared
to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with
the Spirit of the living God;
not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
4 And such trust have we through Christ to
God-ward:
5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves
to think any thing as of ourselves;
but our sufficiency is of God;
6 Who also hath made us able ministers of
the new testament;
not of the letter, but of the spirit:
for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
The grace of God the Father be with you all.
Amen.

1 Peter 1:22-2:5
Chapter 1
22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in
obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that
ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
23 Being born again, not of corruptible
seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for
ever.
24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the
glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower
thereof falleth away:
25 But the word of the Lord endureth for
ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
Chapter 2
1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and
all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, all evil speakings,
2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere
milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is
gracious.
4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed
indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up
a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable
to God by Jesus Christ.
Do not love the world or the things in the world. The world passes away,
and its desires; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Amen.
Acts of the Apostles
The Acts of our fathers the apostles, may their blessings be with us.
Acts 13:36-43
Chapter 13
36 For David, after he had served his own
generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and
saw corruption:
37 But he, whom God raised again, saw no
corruption.
38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and
brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
39 And by him all that believe are
justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of
Moses.
40 Beware therefore, lest that come upon
you, which is spoken of in the prophets;
41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and
perish:
for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe,
though a man declare it unto you.
42 And when the Jews were gone out of the
synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the
next sabbath.
43 Now when the congregation was broken up,
many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas:
who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
The word of the Lord shall grow, multiply, be mighty, and be confirmed, in
the holy Church of God.
Amen.

Martyrdom of St. Bacchus, the companion of St. Sergius ?
The Martyrdom of St. Bacchus the Companion of St. Serguis On this day
was the martyrdom of St. Bacchus the companion of St. Serguis. When the Emperor
Maximianus seized these saints, he tortured them with severe tortures after
having stripped them from their army ranks. After this he sent them to
Antiochus, King of Syria, who imprisoned St. Serguis, but ordered that St. Bacchus
be stoned and slain, then cast into the river of Euphrates. God protected the
body and the water waves brought it to the coast near two anchorites, ascetic
holy men who were brothers. The angel of the Lord appeared and commanded them
to go and carry away the body of the Saint. When they came to where the body
was, they found an eagle and a lion protecting it, having spent the whole day and
night guarding it without harming it although they were flesh eating beasts, for
they had been commanded by God to protect the body. The two holy men took the
body with great honor, singing hymns until they came to their cave where they
buried it.May his prayers and blessings be with us all, and Glory be to God
forever. Amen

Mark 2:1-12
Chapter 2
1 And again he entered into Capernaum
after some days;
and it was noised that he was in the house.
2 And straightway many were gathered
together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as
about the door:
and he preached the word unto them.
3 And they come unto him, bringing one
sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
4 And when they could not come nigh unto
him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was:
and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick
of the palsy lay.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto
the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
6 But there was certain of the scribes
sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies?
who can forgive sins but God only?
8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in
his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why
reason ye these things in your hearts?
9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick
of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee;
or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
10 But that ye may know that the Son of man
hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy
bed, and go thy way into thine house.
12 And immediately he arose, took up the
bed, and went forth before them all;
insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never
saw it on this fashion.
And Glory be to God forever
